| Artist Information | | "Virtual Philharmonic Orchestra" is a member since February 19th, 2005 | | History | | 1993: Reinhold Behringer started creating MIDI files of classical orchestra scores. 1998: Official registration of "Virtual Philharmonic Orchestra" as company and domain name. 1999: Signing on to MP3.COM. Creating MP3 recordings. 2000: Collaboration with "real" human artists (opers singers, instrumentalists). | | Members | | Reinhold Behringer is the Musical Director, Producer, Arranger, Mixer, and Sole Proprietor of VPO - all done in "moonlighting". In his day-time job, he is a research scientist, working in computer vision, augmented reality, and other human-machine interface technologies. | | Equipment | | The current equipment encompasses a Roland A-30 MIDI controller, a 2.5 GHz P4 PC w. 2GB RAM, a Yamaha MU-80 synthesizer, and various soundfonts. This was recently complemented by the fabulous Garritan Giga Strings as well as the Garritan Personal Orchestra, which are realistic sample libraries providing great sound possibilities for future renditions. | | |
